Orlando City Hall

The Challenge:

Orlando City Hall is an impressive, nine-story structure dedicated to the burgeoning municipal needs of this Florida city. Efficiency in the work environment was the key to its design.

In public buildings like the Orlando City Hall, economic factors, particularly the long-term durability and maintenance criteria of building components, is of critical concern, along with the aesthetic values and performance characteristics.

The Solution:

The selection of abuse-resistant TECTUM Acoustical Ceiling Panels throughout the building met these criteria perfectly.

A system of 115,000 sq. ft. of 48" x 48" x 1-1/2" and 25,000 sq. ft. of 24" x 24" x 1-1/2" TECTUM Acoustical Lay-In Panels was installed in 15/16" PRELUDE XL Heavy Duty Grid. Factory-painted white TECTUM panels provide excellent light reflectance and enable indirect uplighting.

The grid was installed at a 45-degree angle to the walls, thus giving an attractive design element to each room, enhanced by the random, non-repeat textured pattern of the TECTUM panels themselves.
