The Employee Choice Gift-Matching Volunteer Time Program encourages support of organizations and programs in communities where Armstrong World Industries employees live and work through volunteer opportunities.

Contributor - All regular full-time and regular part-time U.S. employees of Armstrong World Industries are eligible to participate in this program.

Recipient – 501 (c)(3) organizations that are not private foundations and are recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as eligible to receive tax-deductible contributions and situated in the United States or its possessions.

Since the Armstrong World Industries Foundation already supports a Higher Education Gift-Matching Program, this program excludes educational institutions, primary and secondary schools. Organizations seeking funding to support religious services or proselytism and organizations that foster political and legislative agendas are ineligible for funding from the Foundation. Faith-based organizations that separately run charitable civic or social programs and file related Form 990 reports for such operations can be considered for contributions to support such separate programs. Since the Armstrong World Industries Foundation already supports the United Way in communities where Armstrong World Industries has a presence, contributions to the United Way are ineligible. However, you can volunteer at United Way supported organizations, e.g. Salvation Army, etc.

For volunteer time contributions, you must volunteer at least 36 hours for the current calendar year, which will be documented by the organization receiving your volunteer hours. The company will grant $500 for these hours. The maximum amount for each employee is $500 per calendar year. These hours are to be completed during non-scheduled working hours. On December 11, 2009 the Armstrong World Industries Foundation Board of Directors approved an increase to the maximum amount for each employee from $250 to $500 per calendar year, effective for requests received in 2010.

Limited funds have been set aside by the Foundation for the Employee Choice Gift-Matching Program. Once the dollars have been exhausted for the calendar year, no further requests will be paid for that calendar year.

The program may be changed, suspended, or terminated at any time without notice and its administration, interpretations, and applications of the provisions of the program shall be final.
