  • Overview

Ceiling Attenuation Class (CAC) is a measure for rating the performance of a ceiling system as a barrier to airborne sound transmission through a common plenum between adjacent closed spaces, such as private offices, and open spaces used for collaboration and focus areas.

High-CAC ceiling tiles with a CAC > 35 have high sound blocking performance and are available in a range of visuals to meet budget, aesthetic, and performance needs.

CAC is important between closed spaces needing privacy and from closed rooms to adjacent spaces such as:

    • Private offices and conference rooms
    • Classrooms
    • Doctors’ offices and exam rooms
