Sound Absorption & Sound Attenuation: Bolsover School Achieving comfortable acoustics in learning environments was a real challenge for Bolsover College. To achieve the right reverberation levels in an open space, Optima Wall Canopies were specified in the school hall. Optima Canopies were also installed in corridor area’s in order to minimise interference, so pupils were not disturbed during lessons. Acoustic Levels: Harton Technology College With an emphasis on the College’s specialism of Technology, the new building was designed to be a learning tool for its students incorporating exposed structural elements and visible services, allowing the students a first-hand visual lesson on construction and design. Tisbury Community Campus To create a monolithic ceiling in the new sports hall at Tisbury Community Campus near Salisbury in Wiltshire Armstrong’s Metal T Clip F system with security clips was installed across 700m², providing a downwards demountable solution for easy access to the ceiling void. De Montfort University The £42 million redevelopment, to BREEAM “Excellent” standards, of the former Fletcher complex (now the Vijay Patel Building) on De Montfort University’s Leicester campus features a variety of Armstrong’s mineral and metal systems to help achieve acoustic compliance for both the new-build and refurbishment elements. Ystalyfera School Armstrong Ceilings help with sound and sight in a new teaching block. The two to three-story steel-frame building replaces a 1970s threestorey CLASP-type teaching block to bring accommodation into the 21st Century and was designed to BREEAM “Excellent” and BIM Level 2 standards.
