Cleanable, Disinfectable Ceiling Tiles

CLEANASSURE Disinfectable Products

With the pandemic creating new concerns in all types of spaces, CDC recommendations for cleaning and disinfection make it imperative to select materials you can rely on to create healthier, safer spaces. So we’ve done all the testing on our products, including panels, suspension systems, and trims to ensure you can clean with confidence.

Due to differences in the finishes and textures of our various ceiling, wall and suspension systems products, each product or product family requires a different method of cleaning. Download our guides for recommended cleaning and disinfecting methods.

Water Repellency

Ceilings installed in healthcare environments are required to be cleanable and must not interfere with infection control. In addition to washability and scrubbability, ceilings in healthcare spaces should also be water-repellent.

While an ASTM test does not exist to test for water repellency, in-house testing confirms that ULTIMA HEALTH ZONE, ULTIMA HEALTH ZONE High NRC, and OPTIMA HEALTH ZONE have been engineered to resist water absorption for a minimum of 15 minutes, the time required for proper cleaning and disinfection.

Washability

Ceilings installed in laboratories, clean rooms, food preparation areas, and other sanitary applications are required to meet washability standards. The Washability Test evaluates a ceiling's ability to withstand washing without compromising the panel finish integrity as per ASTM D4828.

Scrubbability

Ceilings installed in laboratories, clean rooms and food preparation areas are required to meet scrubbability standards - and, sometimes, other specific criteria. The Scrubbability test evaluates a ceiling's ability to withstand scrubbing.

Products with Scrubbability performance withstand up to 150 scrub cycles using a scrubbability tester as per ASTM D2486.
